Cross Posting Options

So there are a few options out there that allow you to cross post. This post will go into a couple of them, and how you can use them. Also if you are so inclined most of them are opensource and self-hostable if that is more your style.
Moa Bridge
This in my opinion is one of the simplist ones to use. You simply navigate to https://moa.party and you will be greeted with the following:
Sign in and authorize your masotodon account by typing your name into the Mastodon ID field. It should be formatted like mine: @hack13@cyberfurz.social and then click OK
Now you will be redirected to this page where you will need to grant Moa Bridge access to your account to do the crossposting, the screen will look something like this:
Now we are redirected back to the Bridge, and if everything went correctly you should now see it prompting to link your twitter account. You will just need to click the link Connect to Twitter After which you go through the same process of allowing it access to your Twitter account you will see the Moa Bridge looks more like this:
At this point it is mostly self explainitory. However, you need to keep a few thigns in mind. When having Tweets posted to Mastodon, keep in mind your instance’s policies on Content Warnings. So if you are going to be posting a lot of NSFW content or something you will want to keep that in mind. Typically it is common curtisy to makr all posts from Twitter with From Birdsite like I have mine currently configured to do.
Mastodon Twitter Crossposter
This is another bridge tool that has a bit more customization to it, but the setup process is almost the same. You will need to navigate to https://crossposter.masto.donte.com.br and click on buttons to login to both your Twitter and Mastodon accounts.
After signing into both accounts, you will be sent to the page depicted below where you will be able to toggle on cross posting from Mastodon and Twitter in the direction of your choosing. But just like Moa Bridge, you will want to make sure that you go to the options tab for the type of cross posting you enable.
From Mastodon to Twitter
From Twitter to Mastodon
In Conclusion
If you plan on doing Cross Posting, as I mentioned a few times now. Please keep in mind your instance’s rules on posting content and what needs to be put in Content Warnings. This is unique to each instance’s rules.
